The Beginning

Three designers with three distinctly different styles. Out of a common desire to explore and develop creatively, the Fusion House of Design was born. Their ultimate goal…to design...Art that Matters.

Barbara Buechley is primarily a watermedia painter whose style could be defined as experimental. However, pottery, glass art, handmade art books, monoprints, and teaching are also some of her applied design endeavors. For Barbara, the journey begins with an idea that captures her interest and provokes her thinking. Then the challenge becomes how to translate that concept in as creative a way as possible. It is during this process that the idea begins to take on a life of its own.

Kenna Boles Prior’s diversity in design is expressed in watermedia, collage, murals and teaching. She likes to allow the pen to touch the page with a random line, letting that line inspire the process of evolution that will lead to the subject. As an applied artist, she has work in various publications and is an accomplished designer in quilting and needlework. Much of her work is continuously available through patterns online, books and magazines, pattern kits, continuity clubs and instruction booklets.

Linda Doutre prefers to work in watermedia as a contemporary, expressionist artist as well as designing unique handmade jewelry. She is also a creative consultant, life coach/mentor, educator and psychotherapist with a private practice in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Linda uses creativity and the artistic experience to aid her clients in processing their life experiences on a deep and life-changing level.

Fusion House of Design recently exhibited at SURTEX®, which was held May 18-20, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Each year the show features more than 370 exhibitors selling and licensing art and design. Exhibitors include top artists, designers, studios, and licensing firms. Attendees include buyers and licensees from the home furnishings, domestics, apparel, contract, gift, toy, stationery, greeting card, paper product, publishing and automotive manufacturing industries, plus private label retailers, licensing executives, interior designers, advertising agencies and stock houses. Approximately 6,000 people are in attendance.
